In an art world moment marked by numerous gallery closures, New York dealer Cristin Tierney, who helms her eponymous gallery, is instead summiting new peaks: the gallery is celebrating its 15th anniversary with the group exhibition Fifteen showcasing the artists that have made the gallery what it is today, and the opening of a new space in Tribeca.
Tierney founded the gallery in 2010. It quickly became recognized for its rigorous program, which engaged with critical theory and art history head-on, presenting works from across various mediums while maintaining a commitment to educating audiences and fostering engagement.
Timed to these major events, we reached out to Tierney to learn more about what she feels in this moment and what have been some of the most memorable exhibitions to date—as well as what visitors can look forward to next.
