Part of Joe Fig's series Inside the Painter's Studio, the work Inka's Floor is a photograph of a sculpture Fig made replicating the floor in Inka Essenhigh's studio. After visiting and interviewing Essenhigh, Fig was struck by the plates of paints scattered on her studio floor. This became the focal point of the subsequent portraits Fig made, including a to-scale replica of her studio, and a photograph of his version of her floor.
