The Bechtler Museum of Modern Art is an institution in the Charlotte art scene. The museum was designed by Swiss architect Mario Botta, and boasts over 36-thousand square feet dedicated to Mid-20th century modern art.

The museum is currently celebrating their inaugural summer exhibition series. The introductory exhibit, “Collection, Reframed: We Are Here, Beyond Vision,” mixes the fields of art, science and technology.

The idea for this art was born, when artist Janet Biggs reached out to the Bechtler about working with visually impaired dancer and choreographer Davian Robinson, in the museum’s space. There are video, audio and electronic elements in her work.

In addition to this exhibition, which runs until September 22nd, the Bechtler also has their permanent exhibitions.
