Alois Kronschlaeger was invited by México Territorio Creativo to participate in a residency with El Camino de Los Altos in San Cristóbal de las Casas, Chiapas, in May 2025. During this residency, he collaborated with women artisans from five Mayan municipalities, who are dedicated to preserving and advancing Mayan cosmology through the traditional techniques of backstrap loom weaving and embroidery.
The result of this collaboration is a new work titled:
Trama Urbana de una Ciudad Utópica de Diamantes, 2025
This piece will be exhibited in Visión y Tradición at the Museo Nacional de Antropología in Mexico City as part of Design Week Mexico.
