Cristin Tierney is pleased to announce the addition of Jennifer Marman and Daniel Borins to the gallery’s roster of artists.
Based in Toronto, Jennifer Marman and Daniel Borins have been practicing sculpture, installation and media art since 2000. Known for their intervention-based artwork, Marman and Borins utilize popular design strategies and industrial-based materials to problematize the relationship between visual art and everyday life. Their work does not simply reference twentieth century art history, it attempts to reassess it.
Marman’s and Borins’ work has been exhibited throughout North America and Europe and is in the collections of the National Gallery of Canada, The University of Toronto, and York University. In 2013, they will have a solo exhibition at the Art Gallery of Hamilton and the Robert McLaughlin Gallery, and Cristin Tierney will host their first solo exhibition in New York. Marman and Borins are represented in Toronto by Georgia Scherman Projects.
